POSTPONED: Sauk Valley Serve Day

This year's date has been postponed to a future time in the fall.

Update on Sauk Valley Serve Day – A Shift, Not a Stop

Hey New Life Family,

We’ve got an important update about Sauk Valley Serve Day—and we want you to hear the heart behind it.

After a lot of prayer and conversation with other local churches, we’ve made the decision to postpone Serve Day to a later date this fall. While the original date of May 3rd was set with excitement, we’ve realized that—because of a busy spring calendar across our community and not enough volunteer signups—we wouldn’t be able to do this event right.

And if we’re going to serve our neighbors, we want to do it well.

We were set to partner with some amazing organizations like Sterling Parks District and Sauk Valley Foodbank, and we still plan to. But rather than rushing into something half-baked, we’re pushing pause so we can rally even more churches and volunteers to make a bigger impact together this fall.

To everyone who already signed up: THANK YOU for stepping up early. Your willingness to serve shows the kind of church we are—one that lives on mission, not just on Sundays.

If you believe in what Serve Day is about—and want to help make the fall Serve Day even stronger—we’d love to invite you to a Leader Interest Meeting happening later this spring. We’ll be gathering folks who are passionate about helping organize, lead teams, or champion Serve Day in their circles. (More info coming soon!)

Until then, keep your hearts and eyes open for ways to serve the people around you—because every act of love points people to Jesus.

We’re not canceling the mission. We’re just giving it more room to grow.

With hope and expectation,
Pastor Drew
