21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: Jan 4-25, 2026
It’s been said that every “yes” is a thousand “no’s” to something else. The problem is, we often say “yes” to things that pull us away from God, the work of Jesus, or the people around us. Maybe it’s grabbing your phone to scroll first thing in the morning or saying “yes” to overindulging, only to feel lousy the next day.
But what if we flipped it? What if we intentionally said “no” to some things so we could say “yes” to something better? That’s the heart of fasting.
For thousands of years, people have fasted—not just to say “no” to food but to create space to say “yes” to God. Lately, followers of Jesus have started fasting from distractions like social media, sugar, TV, or anything else that pulls them away from Him.
This January, we’re kicking off 2026 with 21 days of prayer and fasting, and we’re inviting every member of New Life to join us. Pick one thing you know is pulling you away from God, your family, or your walk with Jesus, and say “no” to it for 21 days. Maybe you cut it out completely, limit it, or skip it once a week.
But here’s the key: replace it with an intentional habit of connecting with God through prayer.
When we start the year by giving God our first and best, we trust He’ll bless the rest. When we give Him our attention and energy, He can work through us in ways we never imagined. Let’s begin this year with hearts open and ready for all God has in store!
