Day 17: Wasting Away

So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

Fasting isn't always easy. At this point, you may be feeling the effects-whether physical fatigue, mental resista nce, or emotional weariness. But Paul reminds us that even when our bodies feel weak, God is doing something deeper within us. His renewal isn't just about physical strength; it's about reshaping our hearts and refining our faith.

The world teaches us to rely on outward strength, appearances, and achievements. But God's kingdom works differently-He strengthens us from the inside out.

When we feel weak, it's an opportunity to lean into His presence and allow His Spirit to sustain us.

As you continue this fast, don't be discouraged by the challenges. Instead, see them as reminders that true renewal doesn't come from our own efforts but from God's transforming power at work within us.

Reflection Questions:

How have you seen God strengthening you internally during this fast?

Where in your life do you feel weary or discouraged right now?

What would it look like to rely on God's strength instead of your own in your daily struggles?

Action Steps:

Pause and Breathe: When you feel weary today, take a deep breath and whisper a simple prayer: "God, renew me."

Find Strength in Worship: Spend time listening to worship music or reading a Psalm (like Psalm 46 or 91) that reminds you of God's sustaining power.

Encourage Someone Else: If you know someone who is struggling, send them a message or say a prayer for them. Sometimes, renewing others helps renew us.

Prayer

Father, as I fast today, renew my spirit. Let me find strength not in my own abilities, but in Your presence. Help me to trust that even in weakness, You are working in me. Amen.
