7 – Peace That Stays | 21 Days of Prayer 2025

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you… Do not let your hearts be troubled.
John 14:27

One of my most peaceful memories I return to often is of a sunrise over a small lake my wife and I visited for a short getaway last year.

The rays of light were peaking over the treetops and shining down through the mist. The geese were flying low and in formation over the water. And the surface of the lake was so still it looked like glass.

The stillness of the lake helped my heart feel at peace.

One time when Jesus was with his disciples in a boat, a sudden storm fell upon them and fear reigned as the waves crashed and threatened to capsize the boat.

Until Jesus spoke, “Peace. Be still.” (Mark 4:39)

Immediately, the wind ceased and there was a dead calm.

The same voice that calmed forces of nature to bring a chaotic storm to complete rest is the voice that speaks to your heart now, offering peace to calm your troubled heart.

And know this: Jesus doesn’t give fragile, temporary peace. He gives lasting peace.

Do This: Spend 5 minutes thanking Jesus for specific areas where He has given you peace in the past.
