18 – Pray for the Church | 21 Days of Prayer 2025

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit.
Ephesians 3:16

Much of the New Testament are letters that Paul wrote to groups of believers (churches) around the ancient world.

Some of them were churches that he had helped to start, so he knew the people and the stories. But some of the churches were unknown to him, but he had heard about them and wanted to teach them and encourage them.

But in every single letter, Paul prays for the churches, because he knew that they would grow stronger because of it.

Even though he had spent time with many of them, building relationships, teaching them, making memories. Even though his letters were full of incredible teachings that are still helping us today.

Paul knew that none of it was as important as praying for God to work in their midst.
When was the last time you prayed for our church?

Because the church grows strong when we pray for it. And setting aside time for God to lead your prayers for our church leadership, the members, the building, the events we host, or whatever else he puts on your mind…that actually helps strengthen and bless the church.
