Day 15: Living Sacrifice

I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, on the basis of God’s mercy, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable act of worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2

When Paul talks about being a “living sacrifice,” he’s calling us to offer every part of our lives—our thoughts, actions, and even our desires—to God.

It’s not a one-time decision but a daily act of surrender that leads to transformation.

Fasting provides a unique opportunity to practice this surrender. By saying “no” to distractions and comforts, you create space for God to reshape your heart and mind. You stop conforming to the patterns of the world—chasing success, approval, or comfort—and start aligning your life with God’s will.

This final week of fasting is an invitation to lean into God’s renewing work. Transformation doesn’t happen all at once; it’s a process. But as you continue to say “yes” to God in the little moments, He will faithfully renew your mind, helping you see and pursue what is good, acceptable, and perfect in His eyes.

Reflection Questions:

  1. In what areas of your life do you find it hardest to surrender to God?
  2. What new patterns or thoughts is God inviting you to embrace during this final week?

Ideas for Action:

  1. Renewal Practice: Choose one area of your life (e.g., your time, relationships, or work) and ask God to show you how to align it with His will.
  2. Break the Pattern: Identify one worldly habit or mindset that you’ve been holding onto. Replace it with a spiritual habit, such as prayer, Scripture reading, or an act of service.

Prayer

God, I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice. Renew my mind and transform my heart so I can see Your will clearly and live it out fully. Help me let go of the patterns of the world and embrace the life You are calling me to. Amen.
