Previous to New Life, Ben has been in ministry for over fifteen years serving in three congregations in Minnesota, Iowa, and New Mexico, as well as speaking at conferences and camps around the nation.
Certified and Ordained in the LCMC, Ben has utilized multiple institutions to grow in his ministry acumen. While at Crown College (MN), he earned a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry. Following his time at Crown College, he earned his Master of Science in Family Life at Concordia University (NE) as well as attaining a variety of certifications- CFLE, C-Prep, and P/E. After Concordia, Ben’s seminary work was done at Rockbridge Seminary (MO), where he completed his Master of Divinity and continues to work towards a Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership.
Married to his beautiful wife Ashlea since 2012, they welcomed their first child (Kinslee) into the world in 2017, added a son (Kooper) to the mix in late 2018, and grieved the loss of their third child (Korban) in 2020, who went to the loving arms of his Savior due pregnancy complications. In 2021, he and Ashlea are looking forward to the birth of their daughter Korrah.
As a family, you can find them hanging around the church, playing sports, watching movies, or walking the kids with their herd of dogs (Alexey, Ricky, and Andi- all named after Minnesota Timberwolves’ players)
